常用的意思有三个：
①影响、使产生变化，有时含有“对...产生不利影响”的意思。
Smoking affects your health.吸烟影响你的健康.
②故意假装去感受某件事。
He affected not to hear me.他装作没有听到我的话.
③指对另外一个人感情上的影响，感染，感动；
Some people are affected by music very strongly.音乐对一些人有强烈的感染力。
Effect既可作名词，也可作动词。侧重表示结果,即“造成”一种特殊效果。①通常用作名词，指“结果，后果”的意思。
The medicine has a good effect on him.这种药对他效果不错.
②当用作动词时，指“引起”或者"达成"的意思
He effected great changes in the company.他使公司发生了巨大的变化。
influence作名词时是“势力,有影响的人或事”；作及物动词时是“影响；改变”。指产生不易觉察到的，潜移默化的影响。My teacher influenced my decision to study science.
