1、shall用于第一、二、三人称的肯定句
（1）表决心
Nothing shall prevent us from attaining the advanced world level in science in the shortest possible time. 任何东西都阻挡不住我们在尽可能短的时间内在科学上达到世界先进水平。
It has been decided that he shall be given the job. 已决定将这项工作交给他。
（2）表许诺
It shall be done as you wish. 此事定会照你的愿望去做。
I promise you shall see her again before long. 我答应你不久可以再见她。
（3）表警告、威胁或命令
You shall be punished if this ever happens again. 如果这种事再发生，你一定受惩罚。
No one shall violate the regulations for technical operation.任何人不得违犯技术操作规程。
（4）表规定或义务
The new regulations shall take effect on January 1.新规则将于1月1日生效。
Marriage shall be based upon the complete willingness of the two parties.婚姻要根据双方完全自愿原则。
2、用于一、三人称的疑问句中，征求对方的意见或提出建议
Shall I answer the telephone for you? 要我替你接电话吗？
3、用于主从复合句中，代替should，意义为“应当”
用于主语从句
It is decided that a special committee shall look into this matter. 已决定应由一个专门委员会调查这个问题。
用于宾语从句
I quite intended that Annie's wishes shall be consulted. 我的意思十分清楚，应该顾及安妮的愿望。
用于原因状语从句
I'm anxious that it shall be done in time. 我殷切希望此事及时完成。
