表示勇敢或敢于做某事:
He dared to climb the mountain alone.(他敢独自爬山。)
I dare you to jump into the cold water.(我敢你跳进冰冷的水里。)
在否定句和疑问句中,需要借助助动词 "do/does/did":
She didn't dare to ask for help.(她不敢寻求帮助。)
Did you dare to confront him?(你敢面对他吗?)
可以以动词原形或 "to" 引导的不定式形式出现:
I dare not go near the edge of the cliff.(我不敢靠近悬崖边缘。)
He dares to challenge the authority.(他敢挑战权威。)
"dare" 作为情态动词时,在肯定句中后面不加 "s/es",并且在否定句和疑问句中需要借助辅助动词 "do/does/did"。
"dare" 还可以作为普通动词使用,其后面可直接跟动词原形,表示敢于做某事:
I dare you to try it.(我谅你也不敢试。)
They dared him to perform a dangerous stunt.(他们挑战他来表演危险的特技。)
dare 用作实义动词,有人称和数以及时态的变化。其后的动词不定式可带 to 也可不带一般肯定句中要有 to.否定句和疑问中没有 to。
肯定句(带有"to"):
I dare to speak up for myself.
我敢于为自己说话。
She dares to take risks.
她敢于冒险。
肯定句(省略"to"):
He doesn't dare (to) go alone.
他不敢单独去。
They never dared (to) try something new.
