Rabbits are small mammals, typically weighing less than 1kg depending on their breed. They have long ears, large hind legs, and a short fluffy tail. They are born blind and furless, becoming fluffy and pink after birth. Most breeds of rabbits will live for around 8–12 years in captivity. Wild rabbits live for much less due to predators, disease, and other factors. Rabbits are herbivores, eating a wide variety of vegetation, from grasses to tree bark and roots.
