I am sure that Jessica Fridrich wasn't always a woman. Several reasons for this, One of which is that she was born Jiri Fridrich, which you can discover from various sources, including papers she writes in where both names are used (accidentally I'm guessing).
And another reason is that I was taking a look at a 1982 World Rubik's Competition of all the competitors, not very high quality though. There wasn't any really tall lady there, but there was a really tall guy.
