有人说《诺丁山》是男版“灰姑娘”的童话故事，果然。现实告诉我们：生活中癞蛤蟆（即便是帅到爆的平民美男）是吃不到天鹅肉的，但影视上可以的，这样可以给人们一点希望或安慰，让人幻想或许有朝一日同样能实现这个美梦。
不管如何，电影温馨的情节让人愉悦，美好的结局也总是让人皆大欢喜，正所谓“有情人终成眷属嘛。
故事梗概：
威廉路过集市
威廉·萨克住在伦敦西区的诺丁山，最近离了婚，生活惨淡，与人合租在一起，在当地开了一家生意不太好的旅游书店。男主高大帅气，还有些腼腆。一天，美国女星安娜·斯科特走进了书店闲逛，初次与他相识。之后，男主外出买咖啡，返回时不经意把咖啡撒在了女主衣服上，于是，便邀请她去他的公寓换衣服。从女主刚进书店起，男主就明显被女主的美丽和高贵的气质所吸引，一直语无伦次和絮絮叨叨的……女主临别时给了他一个Kiss，更是让他魂不守舍，并产生了些许幻想。
之后女主约他去饭店找她，去了之后，发现是繁忙的记者会，根本没有时间和机会让两人能够单独约会，只好假扮记者去采访她，弄出了不少笑话，但却让两人的距离拉近了许多。于是，晚上相约去男主妹妹家过生日聚会，女主平易近人，把家庭聚会的气氛搞得很好，虽然一屋子人除了安娜过得都不尽如人意。聚会后的散步更是情调满满，如偷偷潜进已经关闭的公园……之后的一次约会是看电影过后，在饭店用餐，威廉还表演了场“英雄救美”的戏码，因为听不得邻桌的人污蔑安娜，想要维护她的声誉。两人的感情再度升温，当他送她回酒店时，不想遇见了她现在的男友来探访女主，又是尴尬的一幕，于是他又假扮成服务生……之后，他的圈子为他安排了一次相亲。
几个月后，安娜在各大报纸上爆出丑闻，以至于无法在酒店入住，因为有众多八卦记者*扰，于是女主找到男主“借住”，于是一切便水到渠成。由于是合租的，另外一个租客“出卖”了她，让她又一次曝光在八卦记者的镜头下，她很生气，灰溜溜地逃走了……又过了一阵子，女主来伦敦拍戏，威廉知道后，又勾起了他的心绪，忍不住去探班，哪知道又出了妖蛾子，他在耳机中听到女主与戏中男主角有关他的对话（No one/Just some guy from past/It’s a bit of an awkard situation/I don’t know what he’s doing her-e. ），感觉有些无趣和伤感，就默默离开了。
可是第二天，安娜却来到书店解释了这件事，还带来了一幅名画真迹（仿品在男主公寓），并希望威廉能够爱她。但男主认为承受不了“被甩”的伤害，还是没有勇气再次爱她，当场拒绝了她。午后，威廉在朋友圈诉说这个，被大家一顿猛劝，便与大家一起开着小车，冲向记者会现场，又一次以记者的身份提问，要求女主留下来，女主答应了，于是成就了一段爱情佳话。

关于地名：
诺丁山，是个地名也是电影片名（如肖申克一样），英文为Notting Hill。那里也是个旅游胜地，在海德公园附近，有以诺丁山门命名的地铁站。其实那里并没有山，只是地势较高而已。历史上，诺丁山是个浪漫的地方，相传在18世纪维多利亚时代，王孙贵族和花花公子们大多混迹于此。20世纪五十年代起，从加勒比海一带国家移民至此落脚，所以这里变成了拉美人聚居区，从1966年起，这里在每年8月的最后一个周末，都会举办一年一度的嘉年华会，第一天为儿童狂欢节，第二天为成人狂欢节。1999年爱情电影《诺丁山》上映后，这里更是名声大噪。波特贝露市场(Portebello Road Martet)、书店值得一逛或打卡（电影中也出现了。）
后记：
据说这个电影是影星麦当娜的真实故事改编的，但麦当娜的现实结局不完美，因为双方的巨大差距，最终分手。
