介词for 的用法
1.表示目的、目标 “为了... ” “给...”
You should know what the money is for. It’s for buying an apartment.
你应该知道这钱是用来干嘛的。那是用来买房子的。
They were working hard for the common good and not for their interests.
他们努力工作是为社会公益而非为私利。
Get ready for ... 为... 做好准备 just for you 就是给你的
Buy ... for... 给某人买... make ...for... 为某人做...
2.表示去向 （以...为目的地） “往/到/向...”
Leave for... 动身去.... head for .... 前往....
The flight is for New York. 这趟航班是飞纽约的。
3.表示原因（与because 相比较，for的语气较弱）
Thanks for your help. 多谢你的帮助。
Forgive me for being late. 原谅我迟到了。
I’m sorry for what has happened. 我为所发生的事感到抱歉。
4.表示对象 “对于...来说”
For boys /girls , we have all kinds of activities.对孩子们来说，我们有各种各样的活动。
I usually express great sympathy for the children who have been kept from school for the want of their families.我对因家庭贫困而失学的孩子总是表示极大的同情。
There is no need for us to argue about it . 我们没有必要争论它。
The bell rang for the lesson to begin. 上课铃响了。
5.表示赞成 或反对 （介词结构，作表语）：be for (or against)
Are you for the suggestion or against it . 你是赞成还是反对这个提议。
6.表示价钱
I bought it for 500 RMB. =I bought it at 500 RMB.我500元钱买了它。
We have socks for only 2 dollars a pair. 我们的袜子每双只卖2美元。
7.表示时间（长达...）
We play sports for two hours every day . 我们每天运动两个小时。
I went to New York the first time for 15 years.十五年来我这是第一次去纽约。
8.动词 for
Ask(sb) for ... 向某人要求... pay for... 付钱；赔钱 search for 搜索...
Look for .../seek for ... 寻找... send for ... 派人去请... wait for... 等待...
Care for... 喜欢；照顾 be late for.. （做某事）迟到 be famous for.. 以... 闻名
Be short for 缺少... ;简称为... provide sth for sb 为某人提供...
9.固定结构：
For sure 一定 ；肯定 for the first time 第一次（做某事）
For the sake of ... 看在... 的份上，因为... 的缘故 for good （and all ）=forever 永远 for fear of... 以免.
