任何一门语言交流的基本单位都是句子。所以英语语法的核心在句法，而句法的精髓就在下面这张图。在前面的一系列文章中，我们一起学习了4大功能句和3种结构句，从本文开始我们一起来学习4种特殊句式: 强调，倒装，插入，省略。

强调分为读法强调，词法强调和句法强调。
读法强调很简单，只用在口语中，重读哪个词就是强调哪个词。自己尝试读出下面3个句子（注意重读符号后的单词要重读）
'I love you.（强调是我而不是其他人爱你）
I 'love you.（强调我爱你而不是仅仅喜欢你）
I love 'you.（强调我爱的是你而不是其他人）
我们重点讲解词法强调和句法强调。
在人称代词后加相应的反身代词，可以起到强调的作用。
第一人称：I myself did it.=I did it myself. 我自己做的这件事。
第二人称：You can do it well yourself. 你自己能做好这件事情。
第三人称：She is beauty itself. 她是美的化身。
（应用这种强调方式，我翻译了一个网络流行句：She is the "national koi" itself. 她就是锦鲤本鲤了。）
2级形容词用形容词（very、single…）或副词(absolutely、only、just、very、only、even、too…)表强调时，只需认识单词就能理解和翻译句子。
What you have said is absolutely right. 你所说的完全正确。
This is the very book I am looking for. 这正是我在找的那本书。（very是形容词）
He drank it to the very last drop． 他把它喝得一干二净。（very是副词）
但是要特别注意：以下两种形容词的使用方式，也是为了强调。
原级：It is as plain as plain can be. 这真是清楚的不能再清楚了。
最高级：He is the meanest of the mean. 没有人比他更卑鄙。
3种短语1.究竟到底：这类短语通常加在疑问词后，强调疑问语气。构成形式是“天地人”。
“天上”：in heaven,for God's/heaven's/goodness sake，in heaven's name，by God
Which in the name of God do you decide to choose?你究竟决定选哪一个？
Where in heaven were you then？ 当时你到底在哪里？
“人间”： on earth(=earthly/in the world/under the sun),
What on earth do you want? 你究竟想要什么？
“地狱”： in hell(=the hell） the devil
What the/in hell are you doing? 你(他妈的)到底在在干什么？
注意：最后与地狱有关的这一类属于脏话，千万不要在正式文体中使用。
2.确实一定：in every way, by all means, all too/only too/but too
way和means都是方法的意思，其他3个都是以too为核心。注意理解短语的字面意思和如何在具体语境中引申出了确实一定的意思。
His behaviour was in every way perfect． 他的举止确实无可挑剔。
By all means take your son with you． 你一定要把儿子带来。
The news was only too true 这消息确实是事实。
It was over all too soon！ 此事的确了结得很快！
3.完全彻底：to the life/core/fingertips, from first to last/from A to Z, ,in and out, inside out, root and branch
仍然是要注意理解短语的字面意思，注意在具体语境中如何引申出了完全极其的意思。
He is a liar to the fingertips. 他是个彻头彻尾的骗子。
It is a lie from first to last. 那完全是个谎言。
Slavery has been abolished root and branch. 奴隶制已经被彻底废除了。
