5. more than的否定形式：no more than(接名词、数词)=only；not more than(名词、数词)=at most,no less than,至多，不超过，不含嫌少的含义：
We’ve learned no more than 10 lessons this term.
这学期我们只学了10篇课文。（含有嫌少等意思）
We’ve learned no more than 10 lessons his term.
这学期我们至多学了10篇课文。（不含嫌少的意思）
All his education added up to no more than one year. 他接受的所有的学校教育只有一年。
Their new flat has no more than 60 square metres. 他们的新居只有60平方米。
Lying on the ground was a peasant boy of not more than seventeen.
躺在地上的那个农家男孩最多十七岁。
no more than和no less than前者强调少、后者强调多，如：
He has no more than￥100.这句话的意思：他只有100元。显然是强调少。
而no less than是强调多时使用的，当表达数量多达某个数值时就要用它。
例如：There were no less than fifty wounded.
受伤者多达50人。
It's no more than a platitude.
无非是老生常谈。
Even if the bill were approved, it would be no more than a stopgap measure.

not more than和not less than前者是至多、后者是至少
这两个不像前面第一类那样主观上强调多或者少，只是用来表达一个上限和下限的数值范围而已。
not more than就是“不超过” ，“不多于”，跟它直接表达的含义一致，汉语角度可以说是“小于等于”。
例如：It is not more than5 kilograms.
它不会超过5公斤。
这里只强调了最多5公斤，没有主观上强调多或者少的意思。
not less than就是“不少于”，也跟它直接表达的含义一致，非常好记。
例如：The audience was not less than 5 thousand.观众不低于5000人。5000就是最低数量。not less than也就是汉语中的“大于等于”。
6. 把more和than拆开用，more A than B,强调A弱化B.
The girl is more wise than beautiful . 这个女孩与其说漂亮，不如说聪明。强调了前者、弱化了后者。
She is more a singer than a dancer.翻译成：与其说她是舞蹈家，不如说是个歌手。强调前者、弱化后者。
