Once upon a time, there was a farmer(农夫).
从前，有一个农夫。
One day, while working in the fields, he saw a hare run into a tree stump(树桩)accidentally(偶然地) and die of a broken neck.
一天，在田里干活的时候，他看到一只野兔意外地撞到一个树桩上，脖子扭断死了。
The farmer took the hare home and cooked a delicious(美味的) meal for himself.
农夫把野兔带回家，并给自己煮了一顿美味的大餐。
That night he thought, "I needn't work so hard, all I have to do is waiting every day by the stump, then pick up the hare that runs into it."
那天晚上他想：“我不用这么辛苦干活，我所需要做的就是每天在树桩旁等着，然后捡撞上树桩而死的野兔。”
So from then on, he gave up farming(耕种), and stood by the tree stump waiting for the hare to come and run into it.
从那以后，他放弃了耕种，每天站在树桩旁等着野兔跑过来撞上去。
But from then on, he never saw another hare run into the tree stump.
但是从那以后，他再没有见过其他野兔撞在树桩上了。
