1.admit doing sth. 承认做某事
指承认过错，尤为罪行，或勉强承认某种情况。指承认做过某事，这件事已经做过了:
中学阶段的确只考查admit doing sth.=admit having done
He admitted stealing the money.=He admitted having stolen the money.
他承认偷了那钱。
He admitted making the mistake.
他承认犯了错误。
I admitted taking the last piece of cake. 我承认吃了最后一块蛋糕。
They admitted lying about their whereabouts. 他们承认撒谎关于他们的去向。
She admitted having driven the car without insurance.
她供认驾驶了这辆没有保险的轿车。
She had brazenly admitted allowing him back into the house.
她恬不知耻地承认了让他回到屋里的事。
He admitted causing the accident. 承认造成了事故。
She admitted lying to her parents. 她承认对父母撒谎。
The thief admitted having stolen money from the shop.

尽管大部分时间：admit doing sth.=admit having done
但是，当admit与静态动词的动名词连用时，就只能使用非完成体形式：
I admitted knowing her.我承认我认识她。（正）
I admitted having known her. （误）
具有这种用法的动词还有：deny, forget, regret, remember, recall, apologize, confess, excuse, forgive, thank等。
2.admit to do 指允许去做某事，这件事还未做；，也就是说某人被允许或授权去做某事，
They are admitted to manage their acute illness.他们获准治疗急性病。
注意，下列也是正确的用法：
