二、牢记定冠词the的用法
（1）定冠词the特指某人或某物。
The book on the desk is mine.
The cake you bought smells sweet, but I don't want to have a bite of it for the time being.
（2）在最高级或序数词前或由only、very、same等修饰的名词前用定冠词the。
We live on the twenty-third floor, the highest floor of this building.
We made the same mistakes at the same time.
（3）定冠词the和形容词、过去分词连用，表示一类人或事物。
the rich有钱人;the poor穷人;the young 年轻人;the old 老人
the dead死者;the deaf 聋子;the homeless无家可归的人
the wounded/the injured伤员; the unemployed失业人员
（4）定冠词用在年代、朝代或用于逢十的数词前，也用在表示世纪的某个年代前。
the Tang Dynasty唐朝；the Spring and Autumn Period春秋时期；in the 1990s在20世纪90年代；in the north在北方/部
（5）在世界上独一无二的事物、西洋乐器以及发明物的名词前要用定冠词the。
