一、原因状语从句的定义
在复合句中，作原因状语的从句称为原因状语从句，可置于句首或句末。例如：
- Since life is a stage, we are actually all actors and actresses.既然生活就是舞台，那我们实际上都是演员。（原因状语从句置于句首）
- I'm trying to lose weight because I'm so ashamed of my body.我正在努力减肥，因为我的体型让我觉得很难为情。（原因状语从句置于句末）

1、常用引导词
because（因为）、since（既然）、as（因为）等；
2、特殊引导词
seeing that（因为）、considering that（考虑到）、given that（考虑到）、now that（既然）、in that（因为）、for the reason that（因为）等；

三、原因状语从句引导词的用法
（一）常用引导词的用法
1、because：表示造成某种情况的直接原因，引导的原因状语从句通常置于句末，语气最强。例如：
- I didn't go swimming because it was too cold.我没有去游泳，因为天气太冷了。
2、since：表示已知或显然的原因，侧重强调主句内容，引导的原因状语从句通常置于句首，语气比 because 弱。例如：
- since he was busy，he didn't come.因为他很忙，所以没来。
3、as表示对结果的附加说明，引导的原因状语从句通常置于句首或句末，语气比 because 和 since 弱。例如：
- As the car was expensive, we didn't buy it.因为这辆车很贵，所以我们就没有买它。
- My English improved a lot as l used English every day and spent an hour each day reading English books in the library.我每天都在用英语,而且花一个小时在图书馆里读英文书,因此我的英语有了很大提高。
4、now that 表示已知的原因，但因果关系不强，侧重于引出一个新情况。例如：
- Now that you have seen how it works, why not try it yourself?既然你已经明白了它的工作原理，为什么不自己试试呢?

（二）特殊引导词的用法
1、seeing that、considering that、given that 等“现在分词/过去分词 that”短语引导原因状语从句，这些短语都有“鉴于某个事实；考虑到”的意思，一般放在主句之前。例如：
- Seeing that he refused to help us, there's no reason that we should now help him.他既然曾经拒绝帮助我们，我们现在没有理由来帮助他。
- Considering that he's just started, he knows quite a lot about it.考虑到他只是刚刚开始，他对此事的了解算相当多了。
- Given that she is interested in children, I am sure teaching is the right career for her.考虑到她喜欢孩子，我可以肯定教书是最适合她的职业。
2、now that引导原因状语从句，意思为“鉴于某个事实；考虑到”，一般放在主句之前。例如：
- Now that you are a high school student, you are responsible for what you do.既然是高中生了，你就要为你的行为负责。
3、in that引导原因状语从句，意思为“原因在于”，一般放在主句后面，而且主句通常是在作比较。例如：
- I like the city, but I prefer the country in that there's fresher air.我喜欢城市，但我更喜欢乡村，因为那里有更清新的空气。
4、for the reason that引导原因状语从句，意为“因为”，一般放在主句之后。例如：
- I often go to the library for the reason that I like reading.我经常去图书馆,因为我喜欢读书。
