要说最出名的桌子，除了最后的晚餐中那张大长桌，小八马上就想到了亚瑟王King Arthur的大圆桌，在圆桌上诞生了一群忠诚的圆桌骑士Knights of the Round table。
round table引申意就是多人间的公开讨论、会议，通常是人人可以对话、平等的会议。round-table是形容词，意思是圆桌的，协商的，非正式的。
例子：It gives me great pleasure to attend this Round Table and talk about the reform of the United Nations.我很高兴参加这次圆桌会议，并愿借此机会谈一谈联合国改革问题。
