昨天学习了主要学习了两点， ①however的用法，分别介绍了它在句子中各个位置的使用方式。②时间状语从句，包括现在分词形式的以及关联引导词形式的时间状语从句。

昨天学习内容：

'Whatever are you doing up here Bill?' asked the vicar in surprise.

借着电筒光。他看见一个人，马上认出那是本地杂货店主经比尔.威尔金斯。

“你究竟在这上面干什么，比尔?”牧师惊讶地问。

in用于地点、空间、范围、方位等，这个大家都清楚。在今天学习的句子中，有两处使用了in，in the torchlight和in surprise。

①in surprise是in的介词短语形式，修饰前面的asked。比如：

She looked up in surprise when I called her. 我叫她时，她吃惊地抬起头来看。

②在表示在某种状态时，也可以与动词连用。比如：

look at sb. in surprise 惊讶地看某人

speak in a loud voice 大声讲话

lie in silence 静静地躺着

③介词in短语表示目的状语时，可以使用in 名词的形式。

come on in welcome of sb. 前来欢迎某人

④介词in短语作插入语用

in a sense 在某种意义上

in fact 事实上

in general 一般来说

in our view 在我们看来

in short 简单地说

in other words 换句话说

sight让人熟知的是“视野，情景”等。这里有一些常用的搭配要学习。

①bear the sight of … 容忍见到……

I cannot bear the sight of the man is stingy. 我不忍心见到的这人很吝啬。

②dread/hate the sight of 害怕/讨厌见到…

③keep sight of … 将…保持在视线之内

Keep out of my sight. 不要出现在我的视线里。

在这里要讲的一个概念是短暂时间概念的动词和延续时间的动词。recognize作为认识，当见到对方时，认识不认识是一瞬间的事。所以recognize不能与延续时间连用。

I have recognized him for a long time. （错误）

应用改用know来表示认识/知道的一个时间长度。

I have known him for a long time.
