pair这个名词能够对成双成对的事物起到量化的作用，翻译成汉语是“一双”、“一对”的意思。
关于pair主谓一致问题，主要有以下两个核心要点：
① 如果成双的东西前有a pair of来修饰时，谓语要用单数。
例如：This pair of scissors belongs to the tailor.
② 想要购买的内容是东西，而不是pair，所以buy后的宾语如果用代词时，要用them（指trousers等），而不用it（指pair）。但如果宾语是a pair of ...这样的完整形式，则不受影响。
例如：This pair of shoes looks great. I want to try them on. Try的宾语不是it，而是them。
对比：This pair of shoes looks great. I want to try on this pair of shoes. Try的宾语是this pair of shoes完整版，就可以了，单独一个pair是不可以的。
