世界环境日
每年的6月5日，全世界都会一同庆祝世界环境日。今年是世界环境日的第五十周年。这一天是全球最有影响力的环境保护公共宣传平台，全世界有数百万人一起庆祝，是动员变革行动的一个非常重要的时刻。
Every year, on June 5, the whole world comes together to celebrate World Environment Day. This year marks World Environment Day’s 50th anniversary. This day is the largest global platform for environmental public outreach and is celebrated by millions of people across the world, which makes it a very important moment to mobilize transformative action.

Through the campaign #BeatPlasticPollution, the World Environment Day aims to remind everyone of the dangers and harms of plastic, as well as what can be done to reduce the use of it. On their official website （https://www.worldenvironmentday.global/, you can find more interesting information, the actions you can carry out to contribute, as well as materials to promote the movement through social media.
可持续发展政策也是比利时外交政策的重点，因此比利时驻北京大使馆也非常重视。我们努力以更多的方式对环境产生积极影响。例如，为了减少我们的塑料消耗，许多同事在冬天和夏天都用可重复使用的水瓶。我们还严格遵守地区的回收指导意见，并制定了相应措施以尽量减少能源消耗。
Sustainability is also a priority in Belgian foreign policy, and thus also at the Belgian Embassy in Beijing. We try to make a positive impact on the environment in as many ways as possible. For example, to reduce our plastic consumption, many colleagues use reusable water bottles, both in winter and in summer. We also strictly follow the local recycling recommendations and have measures in place to minimize energy consumption.
大使馆其他环保举措中的一项是 ”服务自行车“，这是专门为鼓励我们的工作人员能尽可能地使用自行车而非机动车而提供的。可持续性和生物多样性也是我们在翻新旧使馆大楼时首先考虑到的因素。新建筑将采用三层玻璃，以提供更好的隔热效果。大窗户在冬季会尽可能多地收集太阳的热量，绿色的屋顶覆盖着植被，还有70多块太阳能电池板。在施工过程中，我们使用了从旧楼回收的砖块，以尽量减少资源的浪费。此前，在北京大学山水自然保护中心的支持下，大使馆还为外交机构的园丁们组织了一次关于生物多样性的研讨会。这个研讨会是”自然大使“组织的一部分，是在新西兰驻华大使的倡议下于2022年7月创建的。
Other examples of green initiatives at the Embassy are the “service bikes”, specifically provided to encourage our staff to take the bike instead of motorized vehicles whenever possible. Sustainability and biodiversity were also top-of-mind during the renovations of our old Embassy building. The new building will have triple glazing which provides better insulation, large windows to capture as much warmth as possible from the sun in winter, a green roof covered in vegetation, and more than 70 solar panels. During the construction, recycled bricks from our old building are used to minimize wasted resources. The Embassy previously also organized a workshop on biodiversity for gardeners of diplomatic compounds with the support of the Beijing University Shan Shui Conservation Center. This workshop was part of the Ambassadors for Nature network, created in July 2022 at the initiative of the Ambassador of New Zealand to China.
