词语运用是英语试题中对学生的书面语言的基本功的考查，它不仅考查学生对单词的记忆能力，而且也考查学生对句子和特定语境中单词的正确形式的掌握。分析近几年的中考题型可以看出考查形式主要有单词拼写、词形转换、词语理解等。这一题型一般在中考中占5%～10%。单词拼写的题型常为“根据句意及首字母提示写出正确的单词”，那么，如何解答好这类题呢？梦想君常年参与九年级教学，对这种题的做法通常采用以下四个策略，尤其是第四点，是最关键的,也是难点。
1.通读句子，把句子从完整地默读一遍甚至多遍。
2.理解句意，所缺的单词一定是句中的关键词，一般多为名词或动词等实词。
3.在脑海中搜寻首字母是所给字母的词汇。
4.检查所填词汇的形式以及时态是否正确，如名词要考虑单复数形式、名词所有格等；如是代词要从人称代词主格、宾格考虑；物主代词要从形容词性物主代词和名词性物主代词考虑；动词需要考虑单三形式，过去式等。
