79、care for, look after, take care of
一、care for 不但有“照顾、照料”的意思还有“喜欢、对......有兴趣”的意思。作为“照顾、照料”的意思使用时，主要用在正式语中。例如：
Who is to care for me when I am old ? 我老了谁照顾？
She does some voluntary work, caring for the elderly.她干一些照顾老人的义务工作。
I don't really care for spicy food. 我其实不喜欢吃辛辣食物。
look after “照顾、照看、照管、负责处理”。是指照看小孩、老人、病人或物品等。常可以和take care of 换用，但在英国英语中常用look after。例如：
We've asked my mother to look after the kids while we are away. 我们已经请我的母亲在我们外出时照看孩子。
You can borrow my camera if you promise to look after it. 只有你答应把我的照相机保管好，就可以借去用。
She has been looking after the luggage. 她一直在照管行李。
三、take care of “照顾、照管、保管、管理、负责”。 是指照看小孩、老人、病人或物品等。例如：
Take good care of yourself. 照顾好自己。
I will take great care of them and return them as soon as possible. 我会小心保管好它们而且一有可能就归还它们。
Each worker took care of eighty mu. 每个工作人员管理了八十亩土地。
