rife 有点类似猖獗的 rampant
表示流行的，很多的
比如：In places where covid-19 is still rife, governments should require people to wear face coverings in crowded public spaces.
在新冠病毒依然很流行的地方，政府应该要求人们在人群较多的公共场所佩戴面部遮挡物。
说罪恶在城市猖獗，我们可以说crimes are rife in Gotham City.
rife 经常与with 搭配构成词组
比如上面这句话就可以改写成 Gotham City is rife with crimes.
同理，上面那个句子也可以改写成为
In places (that/which are) still rife with covid-19,...
其实，一般生活中我们表述某物很常见我们一般都会说sth. is common 或者是ubiqutious；如果想要表达某种观念是很流行常见的我们可以用prevlant 。
2. 认为，考虑
deem
本词类似于consider ，由如下两个常用的用法。
a. deem sth. to be sth.
b. deem sth. adj.
一般来说，deem 常用作被动，很少有用deem that ……的用法，一般都会表达成sb. believe/confirm that ……

比如：钟南山被认为是个伟人。
Zhong Nanshan is deemed a titan.
WY认为他的大学时光是他人生的伟大经历。
Yung Wingdeemed his college years (to be)the great adventure of his life.
3.（不好的事物)即将发生
loom
即将发生我们一般会想到sth. approaches或者 be around the corner 今天分享一个词汇 loom ，
It is often used in jest(=jokingly) by university students as final exams loom.
本句在说，每当期末考试快要来临时，大学生常开玩笑地使用这句话。
考试对于学生来说是一件不好的事[捂脸]
在国王的演讲中，有这样一句台词，
On what charge? - Fraud! With war looming,you've saddled this nation with a voiceless King.
-以什么罪名 -欺诈罪 战争一触即发你让一个不能说话的国王坐上王位
拓展一下：loom 还可以表示对某人某事的影响，比如 loom large表示 对某人/某事很重要/影响很大
