一、gift 名词。意思是“礼物、赠品”。在价值上要贵重些，用得比较正式。常 和present换用。例如：
Officials are not allowed to receive gifts from the public. 官员是禁止收受民众的礼物的。
Flowers are the usual gift for a convalescent.鲜花是送给恢复中病人常见的礼物。
Please accept the little gift in token of our esteem.请收下这小小的礼物，以示我们的尊重。
二、present 名词。意思是“礼物”。多用于价值不大的赠品，用得不正式。常能和gift换用。例如：
He often gives her little presents. 他经常送给她小礼物。
Here's a present for you. 有你的礼物。
