第一次接触《当你老了》还是《中国好歌曲》，歌曲一出就只剩下感动二字了，歌词改编自爱尔兰诗人叶芝的诗歌《When You Are Old》，由赵照作曲 ，收录在赵照2015年发行的专辑《当你老了》中。现将原作诗歌摘录如下：
