darling这个词最常见的意思是亲爱的，用于已婚夫妇彼此的称呼。除此之外，darling还有很多奇妙的用法。
一. 行行好，做个好人：be a darling.
informal, used as a friendly or encouraging preface to a request.非正式用法，一个友好和鼓励人心的用于提出请求的开场白。
e.g. 1. ‘Be a darling and get the eggplant out from the vegetable crisper, will you?’
帮个忙把茄子从蔬菜储藏格子里拿出来吧，好吗？
- ‘Can you be a darling and get me a glass of lime juice（酸橙汁）?’
可以帮个忙给我一杯酸橙汁吗？
- ‘be a darling and don't mention I'm here’
做个好人，不要提“我在这儿”。
二. 网红：internet darling(当然，还有很多表示网红的说法，例如cyber/internet celebrity/influencer, social media influencer，但是我觉得internet darling是最贴切的，才能体现出中文“红”的意味。 )
e.g. Liziqi, Lijiaqi, Viya are now the top 3 internet darlings in China. 李子柒，李佳琦，薇娅现在是中国3大网红。They became internet darlings, but they didn't do it purposefully, it was kind of a internet phenomenon. 他们成为网红，但是不是故意要当网红，这其实像是一个互联网现象。
