在使用 英语单词 lack表示“缺少”时，我们总是纠结该使用 lack，还是 lack of，亦或是 a lack of
lack of sleep
大家之所以会混淆二者的用法，主要是因为lack有两个词性：动词、名词
lack作为动词当 lack 作为动词时，后面不需要使用of
- He just lacks a little confidence. 他只是有点缺乏自信。
- What we lack in this house is space to store things. 我们这所房子缺少的是储物空间。
- We are lacking three members of staff due to illness. 我们有3人因病缺席。
lack of sleep
lack作为名词当 lack 作为名词时，我们需要使用 lack of
lack前面可以添加 a/the/his/my/her.....：a lack of confidence
也可以什么都不添加: lack of confidence:
- Her only problem is a lack of confidence. 她唯一的问题是缺乏自信。
- Lack of sleep had made him irritable. 睡眠不足令他烦躁易怒。
- If he fails it won't be for lack of effort (= he has certainly tried). 他若失败了，那肯定不是因为他努力不够。
- We won't be going away this year - lack of funds, I'm afraid. 今年我们恐怕不会去度假，因为没钱。
