You make an interesting point about the CBA salaries being good.
In Japan, the same is the case as with baseball. It is a comfortable life to be an NPB player, but they still produce some incredible athletes that are MLB level all stars (or even the GOAT as we have right now with Ohtani). For a country as passionate about basketball as China, which isn't as limited by height, it still is a mystery the small amount of talent they produce.
尼克斯球迷：你说到了CBA薪水很可观，这一点很有趣~~在日本，棒球运动也是一样，在日本NPB棒球联盟打球的运动员，小日子过得都不错~但是他们仍然培养出了一批非常厉害的运动员，他们是MLB（美国职业棒球大联盟）全明星级别的（甚至是历史最佳级别的，比如现在的大谷翔平）。像中国这样一个对篮球充满热情、而且也没有受到身高因素的影响的国家，却只培养出如此少的篮球人才，这仍然是一个迷啊~~~

You can say the same about my home country, Philippines. Its a basketball country but the team/coaching is booty cheeks. Id blame mostly the coaching though. Its like 90% Clarkson iso hero ball.
