首先我们把这些词分为两类，人和人类
1、人类
在指“人类”时，man、human、human beings和humankind并不是非此即彼的区别，只是各个的侧重点不同。
传统上man可以泛指所有的人类，既可以表示男人也可以表示女人。但现在英语国家里逐渐形成了这样一种共识，直接用man形容男性和女性有些sexist(性别歧视者)的意味。因此更好的说法是human beings和humankind。
▶ human v.s. human being
human 与human being都是可数的。
human being复数形式：human beings
human复数形式：humans。
human强调人类这一“人群”，human being则强调人类里的每“个人”。
例如：
Its rate of growth was fast — much more like that of an ape than that of a human.
它的发育速度很快——更像猿，而不像人。
Each human being has to die, but mankind goes on world without end.
每个人都会死，但人类却永无止境。
值得注意的是human不仅仅是名词，还常常作为形容词
human achievement 人类成就
human history 人类历史
human touch 平易近人，人性化
It's got human touch.
这个东西很人性化。
Apple's products are very human.
苹果的产品非常地人性化。
▶ humankind
Humankind是说到“人类”这个概念时最常用的说法。不仅仅表示生物概念的“人”，也包括我们的历史、文化。
例如：
Humankind has always dreamt of happiness.
人类总是向往幸福。
2 、人
People
/'piːp(ə)l/ n. 人；民族
people: 作“人”讲时，是集合名词，表复数概念。说“一个人”时，不用 people。当表示两个以上的人时，可用 people。
如：twenty people 二十个人
people作“民族”解时，有单、复数之分。
如：a people 一个民族 There are 56 peoples in China.
我们去理解 people 时的一个维度是：people 指“社会属性”的人，不是“自然属性”的人。当你想提及“自然属性”的人时，其实你要说的是“人类”。
例如：
I don't care what people say about me.
我不在乎人们对我的评价。
▶ person
它泛指 man，woman 或 child 中的任何一个，其复数形式是 persons，但人们习惯用 people 代替persons。“一个人”常译作 a person，而需要说明一个人的性别时，要用 a man 或 a woman 来表示。
例：
I will not compare you with other person.
我不会把你与其他的人作比较。
