情态动词should，译为“应该，应当”，否定形式 shouldn't，“不应该”；
初中阶段主要有三种用法需要掌握；

Gina feels old. She should see a doctor.

It's dark now. You shouldn't walk home alone.
天黑了，你不应该独自走路回家。
3、should 表示推测，可能性较大；应该...
I think they should be in the library now.
我认为他们现在应该在图书馆。
Don't worry! They should be on the way home.
别担心，他们应该在回家的路上了。
初中英语九年级第十单元, 会学习与should含义相同短语：be supposed to do sth. 也表示“应该，应当”
I was supposed to arrive at 7:00.
我应该七点到。
In India, you're supposed to eat with your hands.
在印度，你应该用手吃饭。
情态动词should的特殊用法—— 构成虚拟语气
should 在表示“建议、命令、要求” 的词 从句中，从句使用should do 构成虚拟语气；should可以省略；此类单词有：（下划线单词为初中所学单词）
一坚持：insist
二命令：order，command
三建议：advise，suggest，recommend
四要求：ask，demand，require，request
初中重点掌握suggest与advise的此种用法：
Tom suggests that we (should) take the subway there.
汤姆建议我们乘地铁去那里。
My suggestion is that Jenny (should) stay here and wait for us.
我的建议是，珍妮留下来等我们。
须注意以上单词只有在表示该特定意思时，从句才能用虚拟语气，如suggest表示暗示，则不用虚拟语气；
