instead 和instead of用法辨析
instead和instead of 都是 “代替”的意思。instead是一个副词,可以用于句首,也可以用于句末;instead of 是一个介词短语,后面跟名词代词或动名词。例如:
If Mary is not well enough to go with you ,take me instead.如果马莉身体不舒服而不能跟你去,那就带我去好了。
The water here isn’t good,so I’m drinking beer instead.这儿的水不好,所以我改喝啤酒。
He doesn’t like apples ,he likes bananas instead.
=He likes bananas instead of appples.他不喜欢苹果,他喜欢香蕉。
He didn’t play soccer, he watched TV at home instead.
=He watched TV at home instead of playing soccer.他没有踢足球,他在家看电视了。
