Read作动词，最常用的搭配是：
Read a book/read books 看书
What are you reading?
你在看什么书？
What have you read recently?
你最近看了什么书？
（注意read的过去式和过去分词发音是 /red/，但拼写不变）
搭配不同介词，意思不同
Read to someone 读给某人听
Read with someone 和某人一起读
When kids are small, parents read to them。
孩子很小的时候，父母读书给他们听。
When they grow older, parents read with them。
孩子大一点后，父母跟他们一起读。

Read 作 为 名 词 时 ， 有 一 个 含 义 是 “书”，尤其是指某一种类的书：
Summer reads/beach reads
