相互代词each other, one another表示动作或者感觉在涉及的各个对象之间相互存在。each other一般指两者之间，而one another指三者之间，但现在这种区别正逐步消失，两者常常可以交替使用。例如：
At the end of the party, they gave each other gifts.
聚会结束时，他们互相赠送礼物。
结构分析：At the end of the party是介词词组，作状语, they是主语，gave是谓语，过去一般时，each other是间接宾语，gifts是直接宾语。
They couldn’t agree with one another, so they started quarrelling.
他们意见不一，于是开始争吵。
结构分析：They是主语，couldn’t agree with是谓语，one another是宾语, so是连接词，they是主语，started是谓语，quarrelling是-ing式词，作宾语。
相互代词还可以有属格形式。例如：
We know clearly each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
我们清楚地了解互相的长处和弱点。
结构分析：We是主语，know clearly是谓语，其中clearly是状语，each other’s strengths and weaknesses是宾语，其中each other’s是前置定语，表示所属形式。
The teacher had the students check one another’s compositions.
老师要学生相互改作文。
结构分析：The teacher是主语，had是谓语，the students是宾语，check one another’s compositions是宾语补语，其中one another’s是前置定语，表示所属形式。
