be afraid的用法主要有以下三点：
(1) be afraid of sth 害怕谋事／物

(2) be afraid to do sth 害怕做某事
Jenny didn’t do well in the mid-exams, so she was afraid to see her parents.

Alice is afraid to walk through the forest all by herself.
艾丽丝害怕独自一人穿过那片森林。
(3) be afraid that 从句(that可以省略) 害怕······，恐怕······
I am afraid( that ) Mary will not come to my party.恐怕马丽不来参加我的聚会。
He is afraid (that ) he won’t pass the exam again.他害怕下一次还考不及格。
