1、so意为“因此，所以”，后面接的句子表示结果
We didn’t have any money for a taxi, so we walked back to the hotel.
【注意】because和so不能同时出现在一个句子中。
2、for意为“因为、由于”，后面的分句通常表示一种推断性的原因，是对前一分句的补充。此时for连接的句子不能放在句首。
Jack likes reading this book for it’s interesting and educational.
杰克喜欢这本书，因为它有趣而且有教育意义。
【辨析】for和because的区别
for连接的句子只能放在句尾，前面经常用逗号隔开，对结果表示补充说明或提供推断的理由。 because表示是一种明确的因果关系，解释原因，既可放在主句前，也可放在主句后，常用于回答why引导的问句。
Paul must be at home, for the light in his room is still on.
He was late because he didn’t catch the school bus.
