although和though都可作连词，引导让步状语从句，意思是“虽然······但是······”。尽管我们在汉语中表达转折的时候，通常说“虽然······但是······”，可是在英语中，although/though是不能与but连用的。例：
Although my brother is clever , he doesn’t work hard.虽然我弟弟很聪明，但是他不刻苦。
Although the rich man has lots of money, he doesn’t feel happy.虽然那个富人很有钱，但是他却感觉不快乐。
although虽然不可以和 but连用，但是可以和 yet或still连用。试比较：
Although there is no new word in the article, but she can’t understand it.(×)
There is no new word in the article , but she can’t understand it.(√)
Although there is no new word in the article , she can’t understand it.(√)
Although there is no new word in the article, yet she can’t understand it.(√)
