各位同学，在英语的学习过程当中，我们逐渐的学习到了一些介词。这些介词能够表示物体的位置，也就是说它们是方位介词。比方说，我们来看这样两个句子：
There is a book on the table.
There is a chair under the tree.
书上说这个on是表示 “在……的上面”，under是表示 “在…….的下面”，那么它们是不是一对反义词呢？
从中文的角度来看，好像是的。但是，从英文的具体含义来说，它们绝对不是反义词！他们各有各的反义词。 Under的确切含义是 “在….垂直的正下方而且不与表面接触”。它的反义词是over。
There is a bridge over the river.
There is a boat under the bridge.
而on的具体含义是 “在……的上表面而且是接触的”。它的反义词是beneath。
There are some books on the shelf. 书架上有一些书。
There is a nest beneath the ceiling. 天花板下面有一个鸟窝。
那么讲到这里，我们再来看一个词above，它也表示 “在…..的上面”，但它表示的是一个笼统的上面，它并不是垂直的上方也不接触。它的反义词是below。
There is a bird above my head.
There is a lake below the mountain. 山下有一个湖.
所以我们可以总结一下了，这三对反义词；
On beneath
over under
above below
