【设计意图】本环节是听课文录音,回答问题:Can Zoom swim?再回到到学生自己身上,让学生两人一组,展开对话。再通过课文人物的图片,学生通过自己和朋友会与不会做的事情的进行对比,并提出问题:Is it OK to be different?

Activity 1. Enjoy the story

1.(1) Ss watch the video about Frog

音频文本:

Frog looks into the river.

Frog: I am green. I am beautiful. I can swim. I can jump very well. I am proud to be a frog.

A duck comes.

Duck: I am white. I am beautiful, too.

Frog: But you are not green.

Duck: But I can fly and you can’t.

Frog tires again and again, but he fails. Frog is not happy. He goes to Piggy.

Frog: Can you fly?

Piggy: No, I can’t. But I can cook.

Frog goes home and tries to cook. But he fails.

Frog is still unhappy. He goes to Rabbit. Rabbit is reading a book. But he cannot read books. He is very sad.

Frog: I can’t fly. I can’t cook. I can’t read a book. I’m a stupid frog.

Rabbit: I can’t fly. I can’t cook. I can’t swim. I am a rabbit. You are a frog. We are different.

Frog: Yes, I’m a green frog. I’m beautiful. I can swim. I can jump. I am proud to be a frog.

Frog is happy now.

(2)Discuss: What can the animals do? Is it OK to be different?

【设计意图】前面的环节中,一直是教师在对学生的回答:I can..../ I can’t ... .做出回应:Never mind! It’s OK to be different! 大部分学生还是不了解It’s OK to be different的真正意思。所以本环节的意图是让学生明白这句话的含义。此外,本设计的另一目的是引导学生通过听、看视频去概况文本的大概内容,并对教师提出的问题作答,培养学生通过阅读文本,截取信息的能力。
