Naming。
I want to talk about naming，how we choose names，我想谈谈起名字，我们如何选择名字。
and it's a little bit different in the West than it is here in China.这在西方和中国有些不同。
We don't often just create new names from different words.我们通常不会用不同的字来创造新的名字。
We used a lot of the same names，我们在一个家庭中使用多次相同的名字。
many times in a family.所以可能有一个家庭。
So you might have one family.所以可能有一个家庭。
Alot of people are named John，很多人都叫约翰。
your grandfather，你的祖父。
your father，你的父亲。
maybe an uncle.也许还有叔叔。
It's a family name，我们称之为家族名字(不是姓氏)。
it's common in the family.这在家族中很常见。

we will ofen say Im named for my grandfather.我们经常会说，我是以祖父的名字命名的。
That means，意思是。
he has the same first name that I do.我和他叫一个名字。
He was Michael.他叫麦克。
I'm Michael.我也叫麦克。

So just when you hear that，所以当你听到。
you're named for someone，means same name as them.这意味这你和他们同名。
Maybe they're in the family.也许他们是一家人。
Maybe it's somebody that is just very respected.也许是某个非常受人尊敬的人。
he was 'named for' maybe a president or someone else.也许是以总统或者其他人命名。
