Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with a delegation led by Patti Hill, the international president of the Lions Clubs International, in Beijing on Sunday. Li appreciated the enthusiastic dedication and active contribution the Lions Clubs International made to the global and Chinese charitable undertakings and thanked them for their long-term strong support for the cause of blindness prevention and treatment in China.

国际狮子会创建于1917年，由美国人梅尔文·琼斯（中译名茂文钟士）创立，是一个全球性的慈善服务组织，在联合国经社理事会享有咨商地位，与世界卫生组织、联合国教科文组织等有良好的合作关系，总部设在美国芝加哥。中国狮子联会于2005年6月14日在北京成立，并以团体会员的身份加入了国际狮子会，业务主管单位为中国残疾人联合会。
