掌握定语从句的关键是把握好定语从句的三要素：
1、先行词，也就是定语从句所修饰或限定的词。
2、关系词，就是连接主句和定语从句之间的词，分为关系代词和关系副词。
3、关系词在定语从句中做成分。
举例说明：
The boys who are playing basketball from Class one.
上句中的定语从句构成的三个要素为：the boys 是先行词，who为关系代词，who在定语从句中做主语。
特别注意：
spend在定语从句中其后的时间作宾语,所以不能再选用关系副词when。
visit在定语从句中其后的地点作宾语，所以不能再选用关系副词where。
e.g.
1)I'll never forget those days which/that/ \ I used to spend in the small village.
比较：I'll never forget those days when I lived in the small village.
分析：上句定语从句中动词为spend, 所以前面的关系词要选用关系代词which,that 或者省略。
下句定语从句中动词为live,所以前面的关系词选用关系副词when。
2)What do you think of the school which/that/ \ we visited last week?
比较：Do you remember the school where we spent about a month last year?
